Darul Takzim FC history

Johor FC was founded in 1972 as Kelab Bolasepak Perbadanan Kemajuan Ekonomi Negeri Johor (PKENJ FC) and participated in state football competitions before entering the Malaysian football league in 1988 in FAM Cup, later then changed its name to Johor FC in 1996. In 1994 and 1995, the club won 2 consecutive FAM Cup titles as PKENJ FC and was the runner-up in 1996 as Johor FC.

The club was the first club team in Malaysian football league to enter Malaysian Cup in 2000, which was previously dominated by State Football Associations,[1] after defeated ATM FA by aggregate in second-round of qualification. The club also participated in AFC Cup in 2009 replacing Negeri Sembilan FA who qualified did not enter the competition.

In 2012, Johor FC was takeover by Johor Football Association (PBNJ) and change the club's name to Johor Darul Takzim FC
